Thornhill Historical Society
The Thornhill Historical Society leads the preservation of Thornhill's built, cultural, documentary, and natural heritage for the benefit of our community, through focused advocacy, events, and educational programming.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our members, Life, Family, Individual and Corporate!
Your support is very much appreciated.
Welcome to the Thornhill Historical Society (formerly known as the Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill (SPOHT)).
Since 1974, the Thornhill Historical Society has championed the preservation of our community's rich history and architectural heritage.
Through our preservation efforts, educational programs, and community events, we work to keep Thornhill’s heritage alive for everyone to explore and enjoy.
We have developed local history education resources, raised over a dozen heritage plaques to mark important sites, delivered historical walking tours and are the stewards of the Thornhill Archives preserving Thornhill's documentary heritage.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a local resident, or a visitor, we invite you to discover the stories, landmarks, and legacies that make Thornhill unique.
